This cross border project between Pakistan and India is funded by Plough Shares USA with the aim to lay the foundation for a sustainable coalition of Pakistani and Indian women equipped to advocate for positive peace as well for inclusion of women in the security and peace discourse between the two countries. The Coalition Members from diverse professional sectors in the two countries will have regular interaction to examine the potential of under-explored avenues, such as economic, educational and cultural cooperation, as a vehicle for ameliorating tensions and also acts as a pressure group. They will develop and advance a shared advocacy agenda to local, regional, national and international policy, media and civil society targets. The Coalition intends to document, and increase awareness about the importance of women inclusion in the peace- dialogue and the ways in which women can constructively engage to devise strategies to build peace piece by piece between Pakistan and India.
Currently the Coalition is being formed and the first joint meeting of the Coalition will be held from 25th-29th July 2012 in New Delhi.
